5 Dogs with the Strongest Bites in the World
A dog is a man’s best friend, his companion, protector and beloved pet. But we must not forget that all dogs are descended from predators, and the main thing in almost any four-legged predator is the strength of its jaws. We tell you about five dog breeds with the most powerful bite.

English Mastiff

The English Mastiff is one of the largest dog breeds in the world. Mastiffs have a gentle temperament, but at the same time impressive power. The force of their bite generates pressure up to 38.8 kg/cm2: this is enough to easily crush bones and break teeth. Most likely, individuals of this breed were originally bred as fighting dogs, but now they are popular as working dogs and loyal companions.
Bordeaux dog

The Dogue de Bordeaux, also known as the French Mastiff, is a large, muscular, short-haired dog breed. They are distinguished by their large heads and stocky build. Dogues de Bordeaux are distant descendants of the Molossian dogs, which were working, fighting, and hunting dogs in ancient Greece and Rome. They were also one of the most popular breeds in 20th-century France, but nearly became extinct during World War II. The Dogue de Bordeaux has a bite force of up to 39 kg/cm2.
Tosa Inu

The only Japanese molosser, now considered a national treasure of Japan. A relatively young breed, bred in the late 19th century in the province of Tosa for dog fighting. Tosa Inu are not inferior to Bordeaux dogs in bite strength and are considered a dangerous breed in many countries, but in Japan they have a reputation as loyal pets – purebred individuals were even used as nannies.
Cane Corso

The mighty Italian mastiffs boast well-developed muscles – they are also descendants of ancient molossers. Cane Corso are one of the strongest dog breeds on the planet: their bite creates pressure up to 49.2 kg/cm2. They used to be widespread throughout Italy, but now they are often found in other countries.
Kangal

The Kangal has another name – the Anatolian Shepherd. A herding breed bred in Turkey to protect sheep from predators. Kangals have the strongest bite of any dog on the planet – 52.2 kg / cm2. Enough to kill a random wolf in seconds. Because of this, Kangals are banned as pets in some countries, but their owners vouch that representatives of this breed are gentle, calm and loyal animals.
